NORTH MUSKOKA – Real estate sales could give Community Living Huntsville a huge fundraising boost in 2022.

Realtors for Inclusion, a new fundraising initiative by Community Living Huntsville that officially launches in March, has participating realtors donate a portion of their sales throughout the year to the not-for-profit organization.

“People with developmental disabilities deserve the opportunity to live, participate, and contribute as respected and valued members of their community,” says Kim O’Grady, a Broker with Chestnut Park Real Estate Brokerage. “Community Living Huntsville offers children, adults, and families in North Muskoka vital programs and services to help make that a reality, and I am proud to offer my support as a founding member of Realtors for Inclusion.”

She and her fellow founding members encouraged other realtors to join in. Each member will determine their own donation amount.

Jennifer Jerrett, Community Engagement Specialist for Community Living Huntsville, says the organization is always looking for unique ways to build partnerships and raise funds, and was excited to offer this new opportunity to the real estate sector.

“We are so grateful for the support from realtors, like Kim, who are taking action toward a more inclusive future,” she says. “Realtors for Inclusion has the potential to raise substantial funds and create transformative change in the lives of people and families we support.”

Programs and services provided by Community Living Huntsville include housing supports, like its Transitional Housing pilot project for low-income young men with developmental disabilities, who have experienced periodic or chronic homelessness. The four-unit home offers temporary housing and support services for tenants, so they can gain the stability, skills, and connections needed to transition to permanent housing.
